You've probably heard of a step ’n’ repeat backdrop, which are also commonly known as event walls, press backdrop, photo walls, media boards, and more.
With so many different names for this product, it can be confusing and some people may not realise we’re all talking about the same thing.
That's why we've settled on calling it an "event wall" – and here's why we think it's a great choice.
First and foremost, "event wall" is simple and straightforward, and describes exactly what you can expect to see: a wall for your event. Other names like "media board" or "press backdrop" may be too specific, leading potential customers to think they're only for media-related events.
"Event wall" encompass any type of event, whether it's a corporate conference, a press event, wedding, charity fundraiser, or a birthday party.
Another advantage of "event wall" is that it's easy to remember… well, we like to think so!
When you searching for a product online or talking about it with colleagues, we’re hoping you’re more likely to remember "event wall" over one of the many other pseudonym such as ‘step and repeat’ or ‘media wall’.
So, if you're looking for a way to showcase your brand at your next event, consider hiring an event wall over a step and repeat wall or press board.
Styles are changing!
Step and repeat has historically been used to refer to press or event walls. As company logos or sponsor names were repeated multiple times, creating a uniform pattern across the back drop. This is a design term and doesn't directly refer to the wall itself.
We have notice some brands moving away from this design trend when creating an event wall, so we thought we would do the same with the name.
Social media friendly
Press walls or media boards refer back to a time before we all had smart phones and social media accounts.
Yes, event walls are still used for press backdrops with professional photographers snapping away. But they are also used by event guests and party goers for their social media accounts, or to just snap a memory of the night.
Thats why we think using a name like Event Wall creates a little more freedom and is a more suited to their use in 2023.
